Galway Hurdle and Plate betting trends preview upcoming festival races
Ahead of the Galway summer racing festival, analysts have released form guides for the Galway Hurdle and the Galway Plate. Trainer Gordon Elliott, who has a strong record in both contests, fields several contenders, including the six‑year‑old gelding NDAAWI in the Hurdle and a new recruit from Ray Hackett in the Plate. Willie Mullins also targets the Hurdle with multiple entries aiming for a seventh win.
Historical data highlights that horses rated 136 or higher and carrying 11st 10‑12 lbs have the best chance. In the Hurdle, NDAAWI and stablemates are among the top fancies, while the Plate sees ante‑post favorite Funiculi Funicula stepping up to a longer distance. The guides note age, recent runs and weight limits as key factors shaping the odds on the Paddy Power platform.
