Galya Dachkova appointed foreign policy advisor to President Yotova

Galya Dachkova has been appointed as a foreign policy advisor to President Iliyana Yotova. The appointment, effective as of September 1, 2026, was formalized via Decree №288 according to the presidency's official website.

Dachkova is a journalist and translator whose academic background is in journalism and social anthropology. She holds a doctorate in journalism focused on intercultural communications and has completed specializations in social anthropology at Laval University in Canada and the Free University of Brussels. Her professional experience includes roles at various media outlets such as Continent, Balkan Agency, Military Television Channel, TV7, and the website Glasove.

Her husband, journalist Yavor Dachkov, is a member of the initiative committee that supported Yotova’s presidential candidacy. While Dachkova has extensive experience in media and anthropology, reports note she does not have specific formal training in diplomacy or foreign policy.
