Gamba Osaka defeats CAHN 4-1 in AFC Champions League Elite opener

CAHN (Cong An Ha Noi) suffered a 1-4 defeat against Japan's Gamba Osaka in their opening match of the 2026/27 AFC Champions League Elite. Playing away at Suita City Stadium, the Vietnamese representative showed early confidence, creating several dangerous opportunities in the first half, including efforts from Quang Hai and Koko.

Gamba Osaka took control in the 29th minute with a goal from Usami. The Japanese side increased the pressure in the second half, scoring twice more through Toshida and Usami to extend the lead to 3-0. Although CAHN managed to reduce the deficit in the 79th minute when Koko scored following a move by Dinh Bac, Gamba Osaka added a fourth goal in stoppage time.

Despite tactical adjustments by coach Polking to improve offensive output, CAHN struggled to maintain defensive stability against Gamba Osaka's second-half acceleration.
