Game and craft fairs draw visitors in Périgueux and Angoulême

Various specialized fairs and salons are drawing crowds across the region, offering different experiences for visitors and creators. In Périgueux, the 5th edition of ‘Périgueux fait son show’ featured a fashion show at the local theater with actress and writer Laëtitia Milot in attendance. While the evening event drew approximately 400 spectators, some local merchants expressed more reserved feelings regarding the weekend's overall impact.

In the Grand Angoulême area, tabletop gaming and hobby fairs are providing significant opportunities for independent creators. Small-scale publishers and designers, such as the creator of the card game Kouba, noted that selling directly at festivals allows for better profit margins compared to traditional retail. Meanwhile, the Angoulême-based publishing house Moona Games utilized local presence to engage with the public through gameplay demonstrations, aiming to secure pre-orders and build community connections.
