Game Freak announces new action RPG Beast of Reincarnation

Game Freak, the developer widely known for the Pokémon franchise, has announced a new original action RPG titled ‘Beast of Reincarnation’. Moving away from its traditional monster-collecting formula, the game features a dark, post-apocalyptic setting in a future Japan. The narrative centers on a world devastated by a mysterious corruption known as ‘Blight’, which transforms nature and living beings into dangerous creatures called ‘malefactors’.

Published by Fictions, the title is scheduled for release on August 4, 2026. It will be available on PC (Steam/Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The project features a high-profile voice cast, including Yui Ishikawa, Akio Otsuka, and Akira Ishida. The game is being developed under the direction of Kota Kotoshima.
