Game Freak releases post-apocalyptic action RPG Beast of Reincarnation

Game Freak, the developer primarily known for the Pokémon franchise, has released a new action RPG titled ‘Beast of Reincarnation’. Published by Fictions, the game marks a departure from the studio's traditional style, moving into a dark fantasy, post-apocalyptic setting utilizing Unreal Engine 5.

Set in a ruined version of Japan in the year 4026, the narrative follows a protagonist named Emma and her companion, a powerful dog named Koo. The world has been devastated by a mysterious plague known as the Blight, which has mutated flora and fauna and left many survivors existing only in robotic bodies. The gameplay focuses on sword combat, parrying, and supernatural plant-based abilities, offering a more mature tone than the studio's previous works. The title is currently available on PC and consoles.
