Game Freak reportedly developing multi-region Pokémon MMO
Reports suggest that Game Freak may be developing a multi-region Pokémon Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) game. According to leaks from Centro LEAKS, the project, internally codenamed ‘Project Seed’, aims to create a continuous, interconnected world rather than the separate regions typically found in mainline titles.
Early details indicate the project could include regions such as Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Kitakami, though other reports suggest a wider range of locations including Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar, and Paldea. The effort is described as a prototype for a next-generation online game that would allow players to walk freely between regions and interact in a persistent shared world.
While these claims have generated significant interest within the fan community, they have not been officially confirmed by Game Freak, Nintendo, or The Pokémon Company. Some of the information may stem from the 2022 ‘Teraleak’ data breach, with some planning documents potentially dating back to 2020.
