Game Freak sets August 4 release for Beast of Reincarnation action RPG

Game Freak, the Japanese studio best known for Pokémon, announced its new action‑RPG Beast of Reincarnation. The game is set in a post‑apocalyptic Japan in the year 4026 and follows the human heroine Emma and her companion Koo as they battle “corrupt” creatures and the immortal "Beast of Reincarnation".

The title combines SEKIRO‑style combat with open‑field exploration reminiscent of the Nier series. Players can create platforms with Emma’s powers, customize abilities, and switch between story, normal and hard difficulty modes. Beast of Reincarnation will launch on 4 August 2024 for PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and is positioned as one of the most anticipated games of the summer.

The official description on Steam reads: “Beast of Reincarnation: the story of Emma and Koo,” highlighting themes of loyalty, courage and the bond between the human and her faithful canine‑like partner.
