Game Freak unveils 'Beast of Reincarnation' focusing on companion journey

Game Freak announced its new action title **Beast of Reincarnation**, featuring the amnesiac heroine Emma and her canine companion Ku. Director **Kenta Furushima** described the core concept as “one person and one dog,” aiming to blend warmth and loneliness as players travel together.

The game is set roughly 2,000 years in the future after a collapse of civilization, where plants dominate the landscape and traditional Japanese clothing is revived from a single piece of fabric. Design choices emphasize contrast—Emma in black, Ku in white—and a deliberate alignment of their eye levels to reinforce their partnership.

Development stemmed from Game Freak’s internal “Gear Project” contest, where Furushima’s proposal won and moved into full production. Early fan reactions noted curiosity about the studio’s shift to real‑time action and the inclusion of command‑battle elements, with a mix of apprehension and excitement.
