Game Freak's Beast of Reincarnation launches Aug 4, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC

Game Freak, the studio behind the Pokémon franchise, announced its first large‑scale 3D action role‑playing game, Beast of Reincarnation. Set in a post‑apocalyptic Japan in the year 4026, the story follows Emma, a “reincarnation‑tainted” human, and her companion dog Koo as they battle corrupted creatures and the titular Beast of Reincarnation.

Gameplay combines real‑time sword attacks, perfect‑dodge timing, and a parry‑based “rebound” system. Emma can unlock sword techniques and abilities via a skill tree, while Koo executes “blossom” attacks that consume energy generated from successful rebounds. The game also features platforming mechanics using “threads” that allow vertical movement and stealthy kills. A preview trailer with in‑game footage was released on Bilibili, showcasing combat and narrative moments.

Beast of Reincarnation is scheduled for release on 4 August 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam). It will join Xbox Game Pass at launch. Pre‑orders are open: the standard edition costs ¥248 in China, while a deluxe edition is ¥288 and includes exclusive skins, weapons, and in‑game currency (Amber). Overseas standard and deluxe editions are priced at $59.99 and $69.99 respectively, with Chinese subtitles and interface available in all versions.
