Game Freak unveils Beast of Reincarnation combat trailer ahead of August launch

Game Freak’s upcoming action‑RPG Beast of Reincarnation, set for release on August 4 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, has released a new combat‑overview trailer. The footage shows protagonist Emma fighting in real‑time while her companion Koo provides command‑based “Bloom Arts”. Every enemy displays a health bar and a lower “down gauge” that fills when the player successfully parries attacks; filling the gauge enables a finishing move. Parrying also builds an FP gauge that powers Koo’s abilities. When FP is full, a menu slows time, letting players select a Bloom Art such as Higanbana: Roots, which can restrain multiple foes, or Sakura: Javelin. Boss battles emphasize reading attack patterns, with parries and Bloom Arts allowing players to interrupt powerful strikes and apply status effects. Emma and Koo earn skill points to expand their respective skill trees, offering varied playstyles ranging from stealth to heavy‑hitting builds.

The game has also sparked criticism over its PC specifications. Official minimum requirements list 24 GB of RAM for low‑settings play at 1080p/30 fps, while the recommended configuration calls for 32 GB for 1080p/60 fps. The unusually high memory demand and a non‑existent “RTX 1070 Ti” GPU entry have led to community backlash and speculation that the figures may contain errors.

Overall, the trailer highlights a hybrid combat system that blends fast swordplay, tactical parries, and turn‑based‑style commands, positioning Beast of Reincarnation as Game Freak’s most ambitious original title to date.
