GAME launches controversial Premium subscription service

The video game retailer GAME has launched a new subscription service called ‘GAME Premium’, a move that has sparked significant controversy among its customer base. The program, which currently costs 19 euros per year before increasing to 24.99 euros on September 30, offers various benefits designed to enhance the loyalty experience.

Key advantages for Premium members include unlimited free shipping on online orders, earning double loyalty points (12 points per euro spent compared to the standard 6), and various discounts such as 10% off GAME brand products and 25% off technical services. Subscribers may also receive access to exclusive promotions and early access to certain products.

Critics and customers have expressed disappointment, noting that many of these benefits were previously available to standard members without an annual fee. There is also widespread speculation and concern within the community that certain highly sought-after items, such as collector's editions, may be prioritized for Premium subscribers, effectively creating a tiered system of access.
