Gameloft launches Gangstar Mirage City mobile game

Gameloft and Level Infinite have launched Gangstar Mirage City, a free-to-play, open-world action game available on iOS and Android. The title has reached over 30 million pre-registrations and is rolling out across several regions, including the Middle East, North Africa, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Eastern and Central Europe, and Latin America.

Set in a near-future cyberpunk environment, the game features a persistent world where players can engage in cinematic story missions, dynamic events, and spontaneous street encounters. Gameplay mechanics include vehicle customization, empire building, and a ‘Director’s Mode’ for recording custom video clips. Players who pre-registered before August 19 are eligible for exclusive in-game rewards, such as diamonds and vehicle upgrade vouchers.

Early reviews describe the game as a modern evolution of the mobile crime sandbox genre, offering a dense, lived-in world that attempts to provide a console-quality experience on handheld devices. While praised for its atmosphere and world-building, some critics noted aesthetic clashes and optimization challenges on mid-range hardware.
