Gamescom 2026 features Malta's GamingMalta hub and Nintendo's Switch 2 showcase

From 26 to 30 August, the gamescom trade fair in Cologne, Germany will host a large Maltese presence. GamingMalta will operate a shared hub stand that brings together more than 20 Maltese video‑game studios and educational institutions, offering them a platform to meet international publishers, investors and strategic partners. Malta Enterprise will also attend to highlight the island’s investment incentives and support measures, aligning the effort with Malta Vision 2050’s goal of strengthening the country’s interactive‑entertainment sector.

Nintendo announced its participation at stand A10 in hall 9.1, where visitors can try preview versions of Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch titles. The lineup includes first‑party games such as Switch Sports Resort, Splatoon Raiders, a Star Fox remake, Pokémon Pokopia, Mario Kart World, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Switch 2 Edition, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Donkey Kong Bananza. Third‑party releases slated for demonstration include Orbitals, EA SPORTS FC 27, Minecraft Dungeons II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Metaphor: ReFantazio, 007 First Light and an optimized Minecraft version. Daily tournaments and check‑in rewards will be offered to attendees.
