Gamescom showcases growing indie game presence

The gamescom trade fair continues to see significant growth in the presence of independent developers. The Indie Arena Booth, which featured only about 10 developers in 2013, hosted over 200 diverse titles this year in Hall 10.2.

Among the highlighted titles is the 2D platformer Croak, which utilizes a tongue-grapple mechanic as its central gameplay element. Players control a prince transformed into a frog, using his tongue to navigate various biomes and overcome increasing difficulty levels.

Unity also maintained a strong presence at the event, marking its first time having a dedicated presence on the consumer show floor within the Indie Arena Booth. Featured Unity-powered titles included Cairn, There Are No Ghosts At The Grand, Outbound, Paralives, and Nomori.
