Gamescom showcases new audio solutions for gaming
At Gamescom, new initiatives and products are bridging the gap between high-fidelity audio and gaming. Michael Schulz, founder of Sound of Gaming, is bringing traditional Hi-Fi manufacturers like Canton, ELAC, Yamaha, Genelec, and Clearaudio to the gaming community. Schulz argues that high-quality sound does not require five-figure budgets and emphasizes that audio design in modern games often matches the complexity of major film productions.
In a different approach to immersive audio, OXS has introduced the Thunder Mini X soundbar. Designed for desk setups, this system provides true surround sound through a unique method: the rear speakers are integrated into a neck pillow that attaches to a gaming or office chair. The speakers connect wirelessly via a low-latency 5.8-GHz connection and feature a battery life of up to 72 hours.
