GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen buys $10.6M in shares

GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen has continued a series of significant personal investments in the company, purchasing 450,000 shares at an average price of $23.48. This latest transaction, valued at approximately $10.6 million, follows several other large acquisitions made throughout 2026, including purchases of 1.15 million shares in late September and 1 million shares earlier in the month.

Following these insider trades and a strong second-quarter earnings report, GameStop shares saw an uptick in trading. The company's Q2 results showed a 77% surge in net income to $298.7 million, despite a 19% year-over-year decline in net sales to $790.2 million. This profit growth was attributed to aggressive overhead reduction and expansion in the high-margin collectibles and trading cards segment, alongside non-operating investment gains from its position in eBay.

In addition to Cohen, directors Lawrence Cheng, James Grube, and Alain Attal also participated in insider buying, totaling roughly $1.7 million. Cohen’s total ownership, including shares purchasable through corporate warrants, now represents approximately 8.8% of GameStop’s outstanding stock.
