GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen buys $17M in additional shares

GameStop Corp. CEO Ryan Cohen has purchased an additional 700,000 shares of the company at $24.41 per share, a transaction valued at approximately $17.08 million. This move follows a series of significant insider purchases by Cohen since September 10, including acquisitions of 450,000 shares in late September and 1.15 million shares earlier in the month.

Following this latest transaction, Cohen directly owns nearly 41.7 million shares. When accounting for shares available through corporate warrants, his total ownership represents roughly 8.8% of the company. Regulatory filings indicate that Cohen has not sold any stock during this period of accumulation.

Other directors have also engaged in recent buying activity, including Lawrence Cheng, who purchased 55,000 shares worth approximately $1.03 million, and Turner Nat, who acquired 10,462 shares. These purchases follow GameStop’s Q2 2026 earnings report, which showed a 19% year-over-year decline in net sales to $790.2 million, though net income rose 77% to $298.7 million due to overhead reductions and growth in the collectibles segment.
