Gamification and technology transform modern educational learning
Educational initiatives are increasingly utilizing video games and gamification to transform learning experiences. On World Video Game Day, discussions have highlighted how gaming can move students from being mere consumers of technology to creators, fostering skills in programming, AI, UX design, and strategic thinking. Tools like Minecraft are cited as ways to make subjects like mathematics and science more immersive and experimental.
In Mendoza, Argentina, the Mathematics 5.0 Congress demonstrated these concepts in practice. Under the theme ‘Transforming teaching with human sense,’ secondary school students participated actively in technological and didactic projects. The event, promoted by the Dirección General de Escuelas, featured mathematical entertainment stations, including team challenges like fraction bingo and proportionality games, to promote cooperative learning and critical thinking through play.
