Gaming and software services face shutdowns in China
Several digital products are ceasing operations in the Chinese gaming and software market. Qutang Network has announced that its game ‘Mimimimha’ will terminate operations on November 30, 2026. The shutdown follows a period of stagnant updates and coincides with the mandatory liquidation process of Qutang Network, which was ordered by the Shanghai Third Intermediate People's Court in February 2026. The company's founder, Zheng Zhouli, has reportedly joined NetEase's Eggy Studio.
Separately, miHoYo has announced the discontinuation of its desktop companion software, ‘BSide: Olivia Lin’. The software, which launched in early July 2026, is stopping its online services. miHoYo is providing an offline version to allow users to retain certain features, such as dynamic wallpapers and local music playback, provided they back up their data before the server shutdown on August 31, 2026.
