Gaming hardware prices rise for Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation

Major gaming hardware manufacturers are implementing significant price increases for consoles, driven by rising component costs and memory shortages attributed to AI data center demand.

Nintendo is set to increase the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 starting September 1. In the United States, the price will rise by $50, from $449.99 to $499.99, while in the United Kingdom, the price will increase from £395.99 to £419.99.

Microsoft is also facing scrutiny regarding rumored pricing for a special 25th Anniversary Edition Xbox Series X, which may retail for approximately $900. Meanwhile, Sony has reportedly implemented a 30 percent price increase for both the PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro ahead of the anticipated PS6 release.
