Gaming hardware updates: Laptop price drops and DDR5 performance gains

Recent hardware reports highlight significant developments in consumer computing performance and pricing. In the laptop market, the GIGABYTE Gaming A16 has seen a price reduction at Media Expert, dropping from 4199 PLN to 3799 PLN. This model features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 with 8 GB of GDDR7 memory, an 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 processor, and a 165 Hz IPS display.

In desktop performance testing, research into DDR5 memory configurations demonstrates the impact of dual-channel setups. Using a high-end system equipped with an Intel Core i9-13900K and an RTX 5080, tests showed that moving from a single 16 GB Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5 module to a 2 x 16 GB configuration can increase frame rates by up to 17 percent in CPU-limited scenarios. While DDR5 modules feature internal sub-channels that improve single-stick performance compared to older standards, a second module significantly increases data bandwidth by providing four sub-channels instead of two.
