Gamuda and MTR secure A$880m Parramatta Metro station contract

The Riverside Link Consortium, led by Gamuda Engineering with an 80% stake and MTR Corporation holding 20%, has secured an A$880 million ($633 million) contract for the Parramatta Metro station and integrated development. The project is part of the 24km Sydney Metro West line, which aims to connect Parramatta to the Sydney CBD and double rail capacity between the two locations.

The development includes the design and construction of the station and several buildings located above and adjacent to the site. The planned precinct features four major structures: a 43-storey build-to-rent residential tower with 470 apartments, a 29-storey commercial tower, a 24-storey building containing 500 student accommodation units, and an eight-storey hotel.

This integrated development will increase residential dwellings in the area from 111 to 970. The precinct will also include a landscaped park as part of the future Civic Link, connecting to the Powerhouse Museum and the Parramatta River foreshore. Station construction is scheduled to begin in mid-2027, with the Metro West line expected to open in 2032.
