Gandhinagar construction site slab collapse rescues 15 workers
A large slab collapsed at the Bosky The Empire commercial building construction site in the Kudasan area of Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred around 9:00 PM while workers were casting a slab between two existing structures.
Emergency responders, including fire brigade teams from Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad, along with disaster management units, conducted a large-scale rescue operation. Authorities confirmed that 15 workers were rescued from the debris. Of those, 12 were transported to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital for treatment, while three were discharged shortly after being found safe. Officials reported that none of the injured are in critical condition.
Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Health Minister Praful Pansheriya visited the site and the hospital to oversee the response. The government has ordered a technical investigation involving the Forensic Science Laboratory and structural engineers to determine if construction or safety norms were violated. Authorities stated that strict legal action will be taken against the builder, contractor, or supervisor if negligence is established.
