Gandia and Gibraltar announce major infrastructure and housing projects
Major infrastructure and development projects have been announced in Gandia and Gibraltar.
In Gandia, Spain, over 22 million euros will be invested in two primary transformations. The CSIC has awarded a contract for the Center for Research in Marine Science Technology, a project valued at more than 14 million euros intended to boost marine research and economic return. Additionally, Valenciaport will fund an 8-million-euro urban redevelopment of approximately 25,000 square meters near the port's historic buildings, creating gardens, walkways, and parking to better integrate the port with the city.
In Gibraltar, the Westside Reclamation project has entered its execution phase. The initiative aims to reclaim 47,000 square meters of land from the sea in the inner harbor area. This new land is designated for a large-scale affordable housing development, with plans to construct 2,300 units, including 2,000 economic apartments and 300 units for pensioners, to address the territory's land scarcity.
