Gandia beaches renew quality and environmental certifications through 2027
The beaches of Gandia have renewed their environmental, safety, and tourism quality certifications, which will remain valid until 2027. This renewal includes the ISO 9001 standard for service quality, maintained continuously since 2002 for the Nord, Auir, and Marenys de Rafalcaid beaches.
In terms of environmental management, the ISO 14001 certification has been revalidated, ensuring continuous control over water quality, cleanliness, and waste management. Notably, the Nord and Auir beaches have achieved a historic milestone by securing the Blue Flag for 40 consecutive years, making them one of only seven beaches in Spain to hold this distinction for four decades.
Additional recognitions include the ICTE Sustainability S flag, the ATEGRUS Ecoplayas flag, and the Qualitur flag from the Generalitat Valenciana. Regarding safety and inclusion, the Nord beach maintains its status as a cardioprotected beach with defibrillators and trained personnel, while also participating in the Smoke-Free Beaches network and the Spanish Network for Diversity Destinations (REDD).
