Gandia PP launches campaign to identify urban insecurity hotspots
The People's Party (PP) in Gandia has launched a participatory campaign titled ‘Bon xic, però… i la seguretat, què?’ to identify areas where residents feel unsafe. The initiative aims to create a map of the city where citizens can pinpoint specific locations and explain their concerns, such as insufficient police patrols, poor lighting, or illegal occupations.
PP officials Vicent Gregori and David Ronda criticized the current local government led by José Manuel Prieto, alleging that the administration prioritizes image over effective management. Gregori reported a 35% increase in crimes since 2021, specifically highlighting thefts, robberies, and sexual assaults in public spaces. The party also raised concerns regarding cuts to local police personnel and the need for better urban management to address resident fears.
