Gandia shares urban climate adaptation model with Chile

Municipal representatives from Gandia, Spain, traveled to Rancagua, Chile, to share their urban planning and climate change adaptation models. The visit was part of the III Cycle of Lectures organized by the Universidad Internacional Municipalidad de Rancagua, an event that brought together national and international experts to discuss the challenges facing future cities.

Maite Alonso, General Coordinator of Urbanism, and Josep Blasco, Head of the Infrastructure and Urban Planning Service, presented Gandia’s strategies for developing sustainable urban environments. Their presentation focused on infrastructure projects designed to improve quality of life and minimize risks associated with increasingly frequent extreme weather events.

The event also featured international specialists such as Salvador Rueda, director of the Barcelona Urban Ecology Agency. This exchange is part of a long-standing institutional collaboration between the cities of Gandia and Rancagua.
