Gandon power plant project in Senegal reaches 85% completion
The Ndar Energies power plant project in Gandon, Senegal, has reached an 85% completion rate. Developed in cooperation with the Turkish group Aksa Energy, the facility is designed to bolster the national electricity supply by utilizing local natural gas resources under a ‘Gas to Power’ strategy.
Initial commissioning of the 250 MW plant is expected by the end of this year, with full infrastructure finalization scheduled for 2027. The project currently employs approximately 1,000 people, about 80% of whom are Senegalese nationals. The site visit by Energy and Petroleum Minister Abdourahmane Diouf and the Turkish Ambassador to Senegal, Dilşad Kırbaşlı Karaoğlu, highlighted the ongoing energy cooperation between the two nations.
