Ganesh Chaturthi preparations underway in Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad

Preparations for the Ganesh Chaturthi festival are underway in India, featuring large-scale religious installations and logistical adjustments for celebrations.

In Visakhapatnam, SV Entertainments is preparing a massive Lord Ganesha idol named Sri Divya Kankana Alankara Maha Ganapati for the Gajuwaka area. The idol, reported to be between 68 and 89 feet tall, is designed to be adorned with approximately one crore glass bangles sourced from Uttar Pradesh. Artisans from Chirala are constructing the structure using wooden logs and canes.

In Hyderabad, authorities have announced significant traffic diversions from September 5 to September 14 to manage the sale and transport of Ganesh idols from the Dhoolpet area. The Hyderabad City Traffic Joint Commissioner of Police stated that general traffic will be restricted between Bhoiguda Kaman and the Gandhi Statue. Vehicles transporting idols are subject to specific entry and exit routes and are permitted to move only after 10 pm.
