Ganga Expressway faces waterlogging in Unnao amid heavy rain

Heavy rainfall in Uttar Pradesh has caused significant waterlogging on sections of the Ganga Expressway, particularly near Unnao. While project management reports that the expressway remains operational and traffic is moving normally across most of its route, specific areas have faced disruptions.

At the Bashirganj interchange in Unnao, water accumulation on the exit toll plaza and service roads has hindered vehicle movement. Project Manager R.S. Mishra noted that the waterlogging on a specific ramp is exacerbated by the low height of nearby high-tension power lines, which obstructs proper drainage. Coordination is underway to relocate these lines after the monsoon season.

Local reports indicate that the flooding has turned parts of the service road into pond-like areas, with some residents observed using the flooded sections for fishing. While authorities are attempting to drain the water, the persistent heavy rain has created challenges for commuters and raised concerns regarding infrastructure drainage efficiency.
