Gangbuk-gu Administrative Complex construction proceeds after heritage survey
Gangbuk-gu has completed a buried heritage excavation survey at the site of its upcoming Administrative Complex. The survey, which covered 8,224 square meters, yielded no significant artifacts or remains, allowing the project to proceed according to the original schedule.
Following notification of completion from the National Heritage Administration on September 29, the district will begin preliminary works this month. These include the relocation of water and sewage pipes and the creation of detour roads to prevent disruptions to traffic and water supply during the main construction phase. These preliminary tasks are expected to be finished by December.
The planned Administrative Complex is intended to serve as a multi-purpose community hub. Beyond administrative functions, the facility will feature an observatory, a performance hall, and a book lounge to provide various amenities for residents and visitors.
