Ganghwa County announces housing and business support

Ganghwa County in Incheon has announced new welfare initiatives aimed at reducing the financial burden on local residents, specifically targeting university students and small business owners.

Under the ‘2026 Out-of-Region University Student Housing Support Project,’ the county will provide monthly housing subsidies of up to 100,000 KRW, with an annual maximum of 1 million KRW. This program is designed for students from Ganghwa who are attending universities outside the region and paying for monthly rent or dormitory fees. To qualify, the student or their direct ascendants must have been registered residents of Ganghwa County for at least three consecutive years. Applications can be submitted via mail or in person at the Ganghwa County Office from September 14 to September 30.

Additionally, the county is allocating 1.7 billion KRW to support small business owners struggling with the economic downturn. Eligible businesses in sectors such as daily life services, transportation, and specific retail industries will receive 300,000 KRW in ‘Incheon e-Eum’ policy allowances. Applications for this business support are open from September 7 to October 30 at local township offices.
