Gangi launches new Office of Proximity for citizen services

The municipality of Gangi in Sicily has opened an Office of Proximity at the local Justice of the Peace building. The office, operating every Wednesday from 08:30 to 12:30, was created under a protocol signed by the Gangi council, the Regional Department of Family and the competent court. It provides residents with assistance on a range of judicial and family‑law matters, including applications for support administration, guardian authorisations, travel documents, curator appointments, child‑care procedures and guidance on legal protection.

The service is intended to bring justice closer to citizens, especially in areas with an ageing population and limited transport links to larger courts. Graziella Pinello is the designated manager of the office. Gangi’s mayor, Giuseppe Ferrarello, and assessor Mimmo Alfonzo said the new office represents a concrete step toward more accessible justice for the community.
