Gangnam District Council supports ESG eco-friendly festival
The Gangnam District Council participated in the ‘ESG Bicycle Riding and Walking Festival’ held at Yangjaecheon Stream to promote energy conservation and eco-friendly practices. Organized by the Gangnam-gu branch of the Bareuge Salgi Movement, the event aimed to reduce carbon emissions by encouraging residents to choose walking and cycling over driving.
Approximately 150 participants, including local officials and residents, took part in activities such as a 3km walk or an 8km bicycle ride along the stream. The festival also featured bicycle repair services, a recycling flea market, and booths demonstrating eco-friendly products like biodegradable soaps and shampoos.
Council Chairman Lee Jae-jin expressed gratitude to the organizers for their community service and pledged that the Gangnam District Council would continue to support environmental initiatives and local ESG practices.
