Gangnam Festival begins with large-scale parade and K-pop concerts

The 15th annual Gangnam Festival has commenced in Seoul, transforming Dosan-daero into a massive cultural stage. The event features a large-scale street parade involving residents from 22 local neighborhoods, showcasing themes ranging from traditional heritage to modern innovation through character balloons, robot performances, and fashion displays.

The festival includes various musical performances designed to appeal to multiple generations. The opening festivities featured a family concert with artists such as Nam Jin and Lim Chang-jung, while subsequent K-pop performances included groups like ZEROBASEONE and P1Harmony. The event concluded with a headline performance by PSY, known for the global hit ‘Gangnam Style’.

In addition to the main stage on Dosan-daero, the festival extends to other local activities, including traditional Korean music performances, a marathon, and temple music concerts, aiming to promote Gangnam's fashion, gastronomy, and diverse cultural identity.
