Gangnam-gu improves Gaepo-dong bus services to meet rising demand

Gangnam-gu is implementing measures to improve public transportation in Gaepo-dong to address increased demand caused by the move-in of residents from large-scale reconstruction apartment complexes.

Starting September 28, the number of vehicles operating on bus route 242 will increase from 19 to 20, raising the number of weekday trips from 83 to 87. This change is expected to reduce intervals to between 9 and 17 minutes, particularly benefiting the Dogok and Hanti Station sections. Additionally, the dispatch interval for bus route 2413, which connects Seongsu-dong with Samseong, Daechi, and Dogok Stations, will be shortened by 1 to 2 minutes during commuting hours through schedule adjustments.

These improvements aim to alleviate congestion during rush hours and enhance mobility for residents traveling to areas such as the Daechi-dong academy district. Gangnam-gu officials stated they will continue to monitor transportation needs in vulnerable areas and coordinate with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to optimize bus routes and service frequency.
