Gangnam-gu promotes ‘K-Tech Valley’ to link robotics and venture capital

Gangnam-gu is accelerating the development of ‘K-Tech Valley,’ an initiative designed to link the robot and artificial intelligence (AI) industrial base in Suseo with the venture capital infrastructure of Teheran-ro. The project aims to create an industrial ecosystem where companies can develop and test robot technologies in Suseo before securing investment and expanding into global markets via Teheran-ro.

To support this, the district is pursuing the designation of the ‘Suseo Robot Special Development Promotion District’ to attract top-tier robotics firms and research facilities. During a recent briefing for industry stakeholders, officials discussed the development of the Suseo station area and the construction of the ‘Seoul Robot Tech Center,’ which is slated for completion in 2031 on the site of the Suseo Station public parking lot complex development.

Key participating organizations include the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI), the Korea AI & Robot Industry Association, and the Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation (SH). Gangnam-gu Mayor Kim Hyun-ki emphasized that the initiative will serve as a new growth engine for the district by integrating technical demonstration capabilities with investment expertise.
