Gangnam-gu to host Yangjaecheon Volunteer Festival

Gangnam-gu will host the 12th ‘2026 Yangjaecheon Picnic Volunteer Festival’ on September 5 from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the base of Yeongdong 3 Bridge in Yangjaecheon Stream. The event, themed ‘Energize Gangnam, Have Fun with Volunteering,’ is expected to draw approximately 3,300 residents.

The festival features 26 booths offering various volunteer and experiential activities, including making keycap keyrings from bottle caps, upcycling old clothing into hair ties, bicycle repairs, and CPR training. A resource circulation program will collect donations of items such as old clothes, umbrellas, and eyeglass frames to be repurposed into new products.

Additionally, a flea market featuring 25 pre-selected teams will sell second-hand goods, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Gangnam Welfare Foundation. The event is a public-private partnership supported by the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning, POSCO, and Caffeine Addiction Co., Ltd. No prior registration is required for participation.
