Gangnam-gu to inspect gas and electricity in high-risk villages
Gangnam-gu is launching a targeted safety inspection program in October to prevent fires in disaster-prone residential areas. Experts will visit approximately 300 households in Guryong, Dalteo, Jaegeon, and Sujeong villages to inspect gas and electrical facilities.
The inspections will focus on detecting gas leaks, checking pipe conditions, verifying the functionality of circuit breakers, and identifying aging wiring. To ensure immediate safety, the district will directly replace urgent items such as faulty circuit breakers and gas timers. Residents will also receive guidance on how to manage these facilities independently.
This initiative is part of a year-round safety management strategy. Gangnam-gu conducts seasonal inspections to address specific risks like heatwaves, thawing seasons, and heavy rains, while maintaining regular patrols to identify and resolve safety hazards in vulnerable areas.
