Gangseo-gu launches free influenza vaccination program

Gangseo-gu in Seoul is launching a free influenza vaccination program starting September 21 to preemptively respond to an influenza advisory issued by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency. The program, which runs until April 30, 2026, aims to curb the spread of respiratory infections.

For the first time, the eligibility age for children has been expanded from 13 to 14 years old to better protect those in group living environments. Children and pregnant women can begin receiving vaccinations on September 21.

Vaccination schedules for seniors are staggered by age: those aged 75 and older start on October 6, those aged 70–74 on October 12, and those aged 65–69 on October 15. Vulnerable groups residing in Gangseo-gu, including certain individuals with disabilities and low-income recipients aged 50–64, can receive vaccinations starting October 26 at designated local medical institutions.

National vaccination targets can visit any designated medical institution regardless of their registered address.
