Gangster Chhota Rajan Sentenced to 7 Years for Passport Forgery

A special CBI court in Chennai sentenced notorious gangster Chhota Rajan to seven years' imprisonment for fraudulently obtaining an Indian passport using forged documents and a fake identity. The Central Bureau of Investigation said Rajan applied for the passport under the name “Vijaya Kadam,” submitting fabricated school and ration‑card records. The conviction follows a 22‑year legal battle that began with a 2002 FIR. Rajan is already serving multiple life sentences at Delhi’s Tihar Jail for other criminal cases.
