Gangster Chhotu arrested in Ranchi after 13 years on the run
The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested Chhotu, also known as Prince, a fugitive gangster who had been evading authorities for 13 years. The arrest took place in Ranchi, Jharkhand, following technical surveillance and a coordinated operation near Adelhatu Tontal Chowk on September 24.
Chhotu is identified as a member of the notorious Pinku Chaudhary gang based in Patna, Bihar. He is allegedly involved in more than 16 serious criminal cases, including murder, attempted murder, robbery, looting, and violations of the Arms Act. The gang has been involved in ongoing conflicts with the rival Ajay Verma gang over territorial dominance.
Previously arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell in 2013, Chhotu was found in possession of four pistols and 20 live cartridges at that time. In November 2018, the Patiala House Court in Delhi declared him a proclaimed offender. He had been successfully evading capture by frequently changing his location until his recent apprehension.
