Gangwon Medical Device Exhibition achieves record $40.55 million in exports

The 22nd Gangwon Medical Device Exhibition (GMES 2026), held in Wonju, achieved a record-breaking export contract value of $40.55 million (approximately 54.7 billion KRW). This result marks a 12.2% increase in export performance compared to the previous year and significantly exceeded the initial target of 36.3 billion KRW.

The event featured 147 companies across 166 booths. Key drivers for the successful export outcomes included expanded invitations for overseas buyers and enhanced matching through pre-event online consultations. Major participating companies included Neobiotech, Bioprotech, Mediana, and CU Medical Systems, showcasing products such as skin beauty devices, AI body analyzers, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy machines.

In addition to business matchmaking, the exhibition provided regulatory support through a Regulatory Affairs (RA) forum, featuring experts from the US, Europe, and Japan to assist companies with international market entry. The event also included demonstrations of advanced medical infrastructure, such as mobile hospital vehicles capable of operating operating rooms and intensive care units.
