Gangwon Province launches safety inspections for summer festivals

Gangwon Province in South Korea announced a joint safety‑inspection campaign for its summer festivals. On July 31 the Hwacheon Tomato Festival and on August 5 the Hongcheon Starlight Music Beer Festival will host a "Safety Inspection Day" with about 50 officials, including fire‑fighters, police and safety officers, checking venue facilities, fire‑extinguisher availability and the deployment of safety personnel.

Visitors will receive heat‑illness prevention advice, guidance on reporting hazards through the SafetyNewspaper app, and free cooling patches. The province aims to prevent heat‑related illnesses and other accidents, ensuring a secure environment for both residents and tourists during the peak festival period.
