Ganja marks sixth anniversary of 2020 rocket attacks

Six years have passed since the fifth rocket attack on the city of Ganja during the 2020 Patriotic War. On October 17, 2020, at approximately 01:00, the central residential areas of the city were targeted by SCUD-type ballistic missiles.

During that specific night, 15 civilians were killed and 79 were injured, including women and children. This incident was part of a series of five separate rocket and heavy artillery attacks on Ganja throughout October 2020, occurring on the 4th, 5th, 8th, 11th, and 17th.

In total, these five attacks resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians and left 175 people injured. The strikes caused significant damage to residential buildings, civilian infrastructure, and vehicles. Criminal investigations were launched by the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan regarding these attacks on populated areas.
