Ganjam police bust illegal firearm manufacturing unit

Police in the Ganjam district of Odisha have dismantled an illegal firearms manufacturing and supply operation in Tarasingi. During a raid conducted near Gopnagar Square in the Badangi area, authorities arrested three men: Pagala Muli (65), Prasanna Kumar Muli (34), and Tukuna Muli (30).

Officers seized five single-barrel muzzle-loading (SBML) firearms and one Snider gun. A significant cache of manufacturing equipment was also recovered, including drilling machines, blowers, electric polishing machines, an electric cutter, a trigger mechanism, hammers, vice press machines, and various hand tools.

The suspects allegedly manufactured the weapons to supply to customers for profit. Investigators are currently working to identify the buyers, trace the distribution network, and determine the source of the raw materials used in the production of the illegal arms.
