Gans Creek Classic hosts collegiate cross country competition

The eighth annual Gans Creek Classic, hosted by the University of Missouri in Columbia, is scheduled for Friday, September 25. The event serves as a significant early-season competition for various collegiate cross country programs, including the nationally ranked No. 22 Arkansas Razorbacks and No. 26 Missouri Tigers.

Arkansas enters the meet looking to integrate newcomers into the 6,000m distance. The team features transfer Isca Chelangat, who previously placed seventh in the NCAA Championships at this course. Nebraska will also compete in the event, following their season opener at the Cyclone Preview, where the women's team placed third and the men's team saw several top-25 finishes.

The meet includes the Gold Invitational and a Black Open 6k race. Participating schools include a wide range of programs such as Cincinnati, Colorado State, Florida State, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Rice, Tennessee, Texas, and Wyoming.
