Garðabær municipality offers 49 building plots in Hnoðraholt suður

The municipality of Garðabær has announced the sale of building rights for 49 plots in the Hnoðraholt suður area. The offering includes 26 plots for single-family homes and 23 plots for terraced houses arranged in four rows.

This development represents a new phase in the extensive expansion of the Hnoðraholt and Vetrarmýri neighborhoods. While much of the area has already seen residential construction and initial residents moving in, this phase focuses heavily on single-family dwellings, a type of housing that has seen limited supply in the capital region in recent years.

In addition to the general sale, a special allocation process is underway for 18 terraced house units at Sólholt. These are intended for building cooperatives that operate under specific legal frameworks and have received ministerial confirmation. Bids for the plots must be submitted by Friday, October 30, with opening scheduled for a municipal council meeting on November 3.
