Garage fires reported in La Malbaie and Eaunes

Two separate garage fires occurred in La Malbaie, Canada, and Eaunes, France, resulting in property damage but no reported injuries.

In La Malbaie, a residential garage fire broke out on West McLean Street. The blaze was widespread by the time firefighters arrived, and witnesses reported hearing explosions. The Sûreté du Québec established a security perimeter, and some nearby residences on John-Nairne Street were evacuated as a precaution due to heavy smoke. The fire is believed to have been accidental.

In Eaunes, south of Toulouse, a fire started in a van at an automotive garage and quickly spread to nine nearby vehicles. Firefighters deployed 23 personnel and six vehicles to prevent the flames from reaching storage units and surrounding vegetation, though approximately 100 square meters of a field were burned. Gendarmes are investigating the cause, with an accidental origin currently being considered.
